Here’s the setup: shade-giving palm trees and the blue-green waters of the Gulf (bathwater warm in late spring and summer). And in between? The smoothest sand in the region – white, powdery and a joy for your toes. Activities abound: there’s a licensed fishing pier, picnic shelters and playground for your kids, and sitting adjacent is Times Square, a pedestrian area bustling with shops, restaurants and bars. Park (per hour $2) in the large public parking lot. The park is open from 6am until 11pm.
