Mexican crucifix? Check. Tibetan mandala? Ditto. Balinese Garuda? Why not? Miriam William’s temple feels more like a mashup of global religions and New Age mysticism than voodoo, but maybe that’s just her interpretation of voodoo. The temple is big on the tour-group circuit and it can be entertaining to watch Miriam give her lectures on life, the universe and everything else. An adjacent gift shop does a brisk trade in candles, cards and gris-gris (amulets or spell bags).
