Wooden boardwalks weave through to steaming Sulphur Banks, where rocky vents and holes are stained chartreuse, yellow, orange and other weird colors by tons of sulfur-infused steam rising from deep within the earth. That rotten-egg stench is from noxious hydrogen sulfide wafting out of the vents. The easy 0.7-mile one-way trail connects to Crater Rim Dr near the parking lot for Steaming Bluff. The latter half of the trail is wheelchair-accessible.
