Kayakers after a different adventure should try the Beardslee Islands. While there are no glaciers to view, the islands (a day's paddle from Bartlett Cove) offer calm water, protected channels and pleasant beach camping. Wildlife includes black bears, seals and bald eagles, and the tidal pools burst with activity at low tide. The islands make for an easy three-day paddle, including getting there and back, and a day paddling around the islands.
