At mile marker 4 on the makai (ocean) side of the road is a small, scrubby parking area. Walk along the beach or look out to the ocean to see three surf breaks; from left to right, they are Waikokos , Middles and Chicken Wings .
This beach is informally known as Middles because of the break. The highway bridge just past the parking area crosses over Waikoko Stream, so the shoreline from the bridge onward is known as Waikoko Beach.
