The park's famous glaciers are 64km (40mi) up the bay from Bartlett Cove. If you're not on a cruise ship and don't fancy kayaking, the only way to see these icy juggernauts is onboard the Baranof Wind , operated by Glacier Bay Lodge & Tours. The high-speed catamaran departs every morning for an eight-hour tour into the West Arm. The price includes lunch and narration by an onboard park naturalist on the bay's stupendous ecology.
