In preparation for the president’s arrival the following year, the Nenana train station was built in 1922 at the north end of A St. Extensively restored in 1988, it’s now on the National Register of Historic Places. The building includes the jumbled Alaska Railroad Museum , which displays railroad memorabilia and local artifacts ranging from ice tongs to animal traps. East of the station, a monument commemorates Harding’s visit.
