The riverside green space is just down the road from the Nationals' stadium. There are shaded tables by the water, a wooden boardwalk, fountains and a funky modernist bridge that looks like a giant, open-faced plastic straw. Look left and you'll see ships docked at the Navy Yard. Several new restaurants and an excellent brewery at the park's edge ensure you won't hunger or thirst.
