With revamped history galleries exploring the city’s past from Spanish days onward, and a permanent art collection that extends to outsider and vernacular work as well as 20th-century masterpieces from the Taos School, this showpiece museum should not be missed. There’s free admission on the first Wednesday of the month and on Sunday until 1pm, and free guided walking tours of Old Town.
