About 1.5 miles east of the Paria contact station on Hwy 89, turn north and follow the dirt road to the rounded rock tops you can see from the highway. The Toadstools are red hoodoos that are easily and freely explored on BLM land; they're less than a 1-mile hike from the end of the road. Slanting, late-afternoon light is best for catching the shape and depth of the eerie features.
