Across Estero Bay from Mound House, is Mound Key, believed to be the major ceremonial center of the Calusas, lumped with shell mounds, pottery fragments, nature trails and interpretive displays. It’s easy to kayak out there, but you can also contact the park directly if you want to get set up with a local charter service to the island.
