At the heart of downtown, the Concho Avenue Historic District is a good place to stroll – be sure to pick up a historic walking tour brochure at the Visitor Center. The most interesting section, known as Historic Block One, is between Chadbourne and Oakes Sts. Don't miss the elegant and restored lobby of the 14-story 1929 Cactus Hotel .
