Just south of the ferry terminal, a narrow strip of sandy beach runs unbroken for several miles, beginning with Oak Bluffs Town Beach . Or continue 1 mile further south to Joseph Sylvia State Beach on Beach Rd, which has calm waters suitable for kids. It's also referred to as Bend-in-the-Road Beach as you move toward Edgartown.
