A scenic route follows the rim on the west side of Grand Canyon Village along Hermit Rd. Closed to private vehicles March through to November, the road is serviced by the free park shuttle bus; cycling is encouraged because of the relatively light traffic. Stops offer spectacular views, and interpretive signs explain canyon features.
