Just north of the old town center, this park serves as a maritime museum and host to the USS Albacore , a 205ft-long US Navy submarine, now open to the public. The Albacore was launched from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in 1953 and, with a crew of 55, it was piloted around the world for 19 years without firing a shot.
