Denver sculptor A Phimister Proctor became nationally famous with this 1920 bronze of the Bronco Buster. Fun fact: Proctor’s model for the cowboy was arrested for murder before the statue was done. At Proctor’s insistence, the accused was allowed to continue posing until the sculpture was finished.
