Eight miles west of Pojoaque along Hwy 502, the ancient San Ildefonso Pueblo was the home of Maria Martinez, who in 1919 revived a distinctive traditional black-on-black pottery style. Several exceptional potters (including Maria's direct descendants) work in the pueblo.
