Mardi Gras World

Step behind the scenes for the United States’ biggest and most celebrated Mardi Gras celebration at the New Orleans Mardi Gras World warehouse and event center. Located in the Central Business District, Mardi Gras World takes you on an inside tour of the workshop where artisans delicately craft the intricate floats and elaborate costumes that run parade routes every year and help to make New Orleans a Mecca for Carnival celebration. No two floats are alike and most take months of fine papier-mâché handicraft and painting in order to be ready for the big day. Fun for families and for anyone who’s ever had a passing interest in seeing the how, where, and why these big rigs come together for the big day will enjoy an outing to the Mardi Gras World.

Mardi Gras World is located at 1380 Port of New Orleans Place, on the East Bank of New Orleans. Open 7 days a week, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., tours are offered every 30 minutes and lunch is available in the Mardi Gras World Café. Tickets are $19.95 for adults, and $12.95 for children.
