In Antigua’s protected English Harbour, historic Nelson’s Dockyard is the only Georgian-era dockyard still in operation. Visitors can find unique accommodations in an 18th-century storehouse, now converted into the boutique Admiral’s Inn, where the top-floor rooms still feature the original timber braces and fantastic views overlooking the ships. Just across the harbor, at the tip of a promontory, is where the British Navy stored their supply of gunpowder, now also updated as the luxurious Gunpowder Suites, complete with a nearby infinity pool and a complimentary shuttle boat to nearby Galleon Beach.
