Technically in the USA, though only 36km from Gananoque, so you'll need your passport to visit this lavish turn-of-the-century island castle in the middle of the St Lawrence. It was built by George C Boldt, original proprietor of New York's famous Waldorf Astoria Hotel. As they say, if you haven't seen Boldt Castle, you haven't seen Boldt Castle. The castle is accesible by road, off the Thousand Islands Pkwy: it's linked by bridge. Many Thousand Island cruise tours also stop here.
