Little Morrisburg is known far and wide for its quality historic site, Upper Canada Village . Costume-clad interpreters animate this re-created town by emulating life in the 1860s. Plan to spend three or four hours at the village – that will give you plenty of time to check out the 40 buildings. Wander through Cook’s Tavern, the Blacksmith’s Shop, Asselstine’s Woollen Factory, the Schoolhouse, the Gazette Printing Office and the many other dwellings to learn about the intricacies of colonial life. For those without transportation, the village can be reached aboard buses running between Ottawa and Cornwall, and on some Montréal to Toronto trips.
