Bear River First Nation is a five-minute drive from the heart of town: turn left after crossing the bridge, then take a left where the road forks. In a beautiful building, with a wigwam-shaped foyer, the Heritage & Cultural Centre offers demonstrations of traditional crafts and hands-on workshops, but unfortunately it's rarely open.
A 1km trail starts behind the center and highlights plants with traditional medicinal uses.
