Victoria is highly rated for its gardens, and the thoughtfully designed, tranquil Abkhazi Garden is no exception.
The garden was created by the Georgian Prince Nicholas Abkhazi, and his Shanghai-born wife, Peggy. Their garden was saved from the developers’ bulldozers and is now managed by a charitable trust.
Surrounding a heritage property, the garden makes the most of the gently sloping, rocky grounds following an Asian-inspired design. Azaleas, rhododendrons, bulbs and woodland plants flower throughout the year, providing interest and inspiration.
There’s also a garden shop that sells locally crafted gifts, and the teahouse restaurant is open for lunch and afternoon tea.
