Confederation Centre of the Arts

Housed in an imposing stone building, right next door to the landmark Province House (famously the birthplace of the Canadian Confederation), it’s impossible to miss the Confederation Centre of the Arts and the multipurpose cultural center is the main hub of Charlottetown’s thriving arts scene. 
The sizable complex has a history dating back to 1965 and now takes over an entire block, including a theatre, an art gallery, a public library and a children’s theatre, along with a cluster of shops, cafes and restaurants. As well as hosting an ever-changing roster of art exhibitions and theatric performances, the Confederation Centre of the Arts is best known for hosting the summer Charlottetown Festival, as well as regular showings of Anne of Green Gables–The Musical, Canada's most popular and longest-running musical. 

Practical Info

The Confederation Centre of the Arts is located next to the Province House in Charlottetown on Prince Edward Island and is open daily from 9am-5pm during high season and Wednesday-Saturday in low season. Entrance is free, although many events and exhibitions require tickets.
