After a month of traveling through Vietnam, I learned that Vietnamese food is one of my favorite cuisines. In Vancouver, especially along the Kingsway corridor, you can find great bowls of pho, bun, or broken rice dishes all over Vancouver. But if you're to ask me what my favorite restaurant for Vietnam food is, it would be Mr. Red Cafe on Hastings Street.
Here I noticed dishes on the menu that I had never seen since I was in Vietnam. The service is friendly and quick. It's not a fancy eatery but if you want authentic Vietnamese flavors, trek east and go here. It's even approved by two of my Vietnamese friends who just moved to Canada. They say it's very reminiscent of home.
