I spent a few nights in Parksville to have some quiet beach time while I was on Vancouver Island. While I was there I stopped in to see the popular "Goats On The Roof" at the Old Country Market in Coombs. Before I arrived, I received a recommendations from a bunch of friends to eat at Cuckoos, an Italian trattoria and pizzeria located behind the market. The name seemed a bit funny to me for an Italian place but I decided to go in for dinner anyway.
I ordered one of their thin Neapolitan style pizzas with proscuitto and artichokes and an Italian Lemonade to drink. To my surprise, everything was delicious. I never have high hopes in small towns but this place was big city good. If you find yourself driving through the area on your way to Tofino, I suggest a stop for a delicious Italian meal.
