For an especially scenic way to go from downtown to Strathcona, try an old-fashioned streetcar ride. The Edmonton Radial Rail Society is a group dedicated to restoring and preserving the historic electric trams so that you can experience transit from 1912. The High Level Bridge streetcar runs daily from May to September, and then weekends until mid-October. The car currently operating was built in St. Louis, but you might also see vehicles from Japan and Australia on the tracks. After you catch a ride up, you can learn more at the Strathcona Streetcar Barn & Museum, with free admission on Saturdays during months when the streetcar is running.
