The much remodeled Nuestra Señora de la Caridad was built at the end of the 16th century. The local indigenous community uses it as a place of worship.

This museum is located in a fascinatingly ancient colonial house desperately in need of a renovation (check out those walls!). But while its setting is interesting, its contents (a fossilized turtle, old coins) are pretty mediocre and labeling is only in Spanish.
Iglesia La Merced
In 1847, the convent of La Merced was converted to house Honduras first university; the countrys national gallery was established there in 1996, but moved to Comayagua in 2015. The well-restored building is itself a work of art, and as impressive as the paintings inside.

Bando Beach
Utila Towns privately run beach is a bit of an underwhelming affair, but at least youre in an enclosed space with sun loungers and access to a bar for cool drinks. Turn right from the harbor and head to the very end of Main St; go over the bridge and its on the right.
