While the famed Mexican art collector Dolores 'Lola' Olmedo was away on vacation in 1956, a dying Diego Rivera decided to pep up the entrance to the villa of his friend, muse and love object with spectacular serpentine mosaic murals. They are quite an unexpected sight on this quiet hillside street. Plans are in the works to convert the house and studio into a cultural center/museum, which will give access to further Rivera mural decorations inside.
