Worth a visit for the charming colonial-era building alone, the Museo de la Ciudad de Veracruz does a good job of recounting the city’s history from the pre-Hispanic era, and also gives a feel for the essence of this proud and lively city through explanations of its music, diverse ethnic roots, and politics. There is some labeling in English, and plenty of models and dioramas to boot.
The attractive courtyard often hosts cultural experiences such as dance shows, Día de Muertos events and more.
