This impressive sinkhole is one of two (along with Sótano de las Goldonrinas) to view swift flocks exiting and entering their cavern. A favorite for rappelling enthusiasts, the chasm itself is around 478m deep. Accessing the cave is a little trickier – from the car park you must walk for 1km through remarkable jungle – but it’s worth it for its beautiful cedar and local tree and bird species. To access the cave, turn off toward San Isidro Tampaxal (around 8km).
