As well as housing one of the largest collections of books and magazines in English in Latin America, this excellent public library functions as a cultural center. Its financial enterprises (Atención San Miguel newspaper, tours and an onsite cafe) provide for children's scholarships. The library cafe provides a pleasant spot from which to view the cultural action. The tiny Teatro Santa Ana also hosts talks and performances.
