On the palm-fringed Bahía Tenacatita, Playa Tenacatita has clear snorkeling waters and a large mangrove lagoon with good bird-watching, but there is a land title in dispute here, with a development group in the process of trying to build on and partly privatize an otherwise public and undeveloped beach. You can still visit for now, but camping is no longer allowed. Bring your own food and drinks and enjoy the day.
