Tijuana

Tijuana is located on the northern Baja California Peninsula, just on the other side of the United States border in Mexico. The city’s close proximity to Southern California makes it easy for visitors to include a day trip to Mexico in their plans. By tour bus or private car, it’s a quick drive, but you’ll see many changes along the way. Coming from Los Angeles adds a couple hours in each direction, but it is still close enough to serve as a popular day trip.
Visitors travel from nearby San Diego to Tijuana to shop, eat and drink. Lined with shops and boutiques, Avenida Revolucion is a great stop for visitors to purchase cheap souvenirs, leather goods, jewelry and Mexican handicrafts. Bargaining is expected; Tijuana is no place to be shy and timid. 
Over the past decade, safety in Tijuana has been questioned by some travelers. The US Department of State issues traveler alerts and offers the latest information on the area for anyone considering a visit.
