Rosarito Beach

Just 30 minutes south of San Diego, Rosarito is located just across the border on the Pacific coast of the Baja Peninsula. Only 20 miles from the border, this beach destination is easy to reach via the Rosarito-Tijuana Scenic Road.
Along with folks searching for a vacation filled with surf and sand, Rosarito is a popular retirement spot for American citizens. Hollywood is fond of the area too. A number of films including Titanic and Pearl Harbor were filmed in Rosarito.
Larger stores, hotels and restaurants have set rates, but if you like to bargain, you might have luck in smaller shops, especially if you are making a large purchase.

Because Rosarito is very close to the US border, dollars are generally accepted. Most major restaurants, stores and hotels accept credit cards. English is spoken in almost all of the tourist areas.
