The homestead at Woolmers dates from 1819 and, along with nearby Brickendon, it's one of the 11 Unescso World Heritage Australian Convict Sites. Admission is via guided tours, which run at 10am, 11.15am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 3.30pm. Wandering through the antique-filled rooms you’ll feel like you’ve fallen backwards into another century. There’s also a heritage rose garden here – 2 hectares of headily scented blooms on the banks of the Macquarie River. Accommodation also available.
