Hellyers Road is one of Tasmania's most respected makers of whisky. You can tour the distillery to see how its golden single malt is made, and afterwards take a tasting of whisky, whisky cream or Southern Lights vodka, which is also made here (nips $2 to $4).
To get here from Marine Tce/Bass Hwy, turn south onto Mount St (B18), following signs for Upper Burnie and Queenstown. Turn left onto Old Surrey Rd (C112) and follow signs to the distillery.
