This beautiful 229-hectare reserve, centred on the Mersey River south of Latrobe, is named after a local Aboriginal word meaning 'plenty' and it's not difficult to see why – platypus sightings are almost guaranteed here. You could come and try your luck on your own, but we recommend taking a Platypus Spotting Tour . The riverine forest here also shelters the shy Tasmanian bettong. Some of the walking trails are wheelchair accessible.
