Spanish Mission–style Nutcote (1925) is the former home of author and illustrator May Gibbs, who wrote the much-loved Australian children’s book Snugglepot & Cuddlepie . It’s now restored to its 1930s glory and houses a museum devoted to her life and work. Cheery volunteer guides will show you around, and there are beautiful gardens, a tearoom and a gift shop. It’s a five-minute walk from the wharf.
