Margate Train is a chance for train geeks to gawk at Tasmania's last passenger train – the good ol' Tasman Ltd – which stopped chugging in the late 1970s. It stands idly on a redundant section of track by the highway just north of town, and houses craft shops, a bookshop, antique dealers, a pancake cafe and a providore for picnic supplies.
