Those with transport should head for the Great Western Tiers. The only road that actually reaches the top of the plateau is the gravel road to Lake Mackenzie. Follow this road to Devils Gullet, where there’s a 40-minute-return walk to a platform bolted to the top of a dramatic gorge: looking over the edge isn’t for the faint-hearted.
