Historic, windswept Greenough was an active administrative centre in its 1860s heyday. Nearly a dozen of its traditional stone buildings have been preserved. The visitors centre has a nice cafe serving Devonshire tea, light meals and home-made desserts; it also sells local arts and crafts.
