Adventure World
Sitting just 12.5 miles (20 km) from Perth’s CBD, Adventure World is the city’s premier theme park destination and the only park of its kind in Western Australia. Open seasonally from the end of September to the end of April, the site was built on an old limestone quarry and has retained some of its original 20-year-old attractions while also undergoing many additions and improvements. The Enchanted Castle, Skull Rock, the Ole Swimming Hole (now the Lagoon) and Water Mountain (housing the longest water slides in Western Australia) each characterize the park's history as a fun family destination.
Adventure World's attractions range from the super scary Abyss, Freefall and Power Surge rides to the much more mellow Koi Ponds and Bumper Boats. The Speed Slides, Rail Rider and other rides created specifically for younger children form a nice middle ground on the adrenaline scale.
Practical Info
The park is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily from September to April, except during the Christmas school holidays when it remains open until 7 p.m. A day pass costs $57 for those 14 years and older, and $47 for children ages 4 to 13. The site is located 25 minutes from Perth and 15 minutes from Fremantle by car, and public transport is also easily accessible.
