Motu Tapu
Said to be the most photographed isle in the South Pacific, Motu Tapu is a small, exclusive motu reserved for invited guests and those staying at the Hilton Bora Bora Nui Resort & Spa. While the hotel is located on Vaitape, the hotel owns Motu Tapu and can take you on a 10-minute boat ride to experience it for yourself. Staff set tables in the water allowing guests to eat a traditional Tahitian meal along the shore, as well as teach visitors interesting skills like opening a coconut and tying a wraparound skirt.
While not as accessible as some of Bora Bora's other islands, Motu Tapu is worth the trip to experience its soft white sand, world-class reef diving and snorkeling and opportunities for kayaking, shark and sting ray encounters. For guests wanting a romantic experience, this is a great way to have the once-in-a-lifetime experience of having your own secluded island to yourselves, and the hotel can even arrange for a private Champagne lunch.
