Stretching over 24 hectares, this beautiful park includes landscaped gardens surrounding an elegant 1925 Georgian-style mansion, fringed with an expanse of native bush. The children's playground is extremely popular with local families and there's also an interesting carved wharepuni (traditional Māori sleeping house) to discover.
Sadly the house itself is off limits at present due to a potential earthquake risk. When (and if) a solution is found, you'll be able to visit the excellent gallery within, which features works from many prominent New Zealand artists.
