Dunedin's original Scottish settlers founded Otago's first Presbyterian congregation upon their arrival in 1848 and built this grand church 25 years later. Constructed in the Gothic style out of Oamaru's famous white stone, the church has a soaring wooden ceiling and some magnificent stained-glass windows. At the rear is an interesting little museum devoted to the history of the congregation, which is inextricably linked to that of the city.
