French Residency
On the northern side of Independence Park, the French Residency - the white building with faded red roof - is now the Department of Foreign Affairs.

Near the cascades is this coffee-roasting factory, with adjoining cafe. Learn the story of Tanna Coffee then enjoy a 100% arabica coffee in the cafe (350VT).
Iririki Island
Iririki is the green, bungalow-laden island right across from Port Vila’s waterfront; it was closed following Cyclone Pam in 2015 but is expected to reopen in 2016.
Lake Fanteng Conservation Area
At Dip Point north of Craig Cove, this is a beautiful spot, with many wild ducks and more than 30 bird species. Organise a trip (4000VT and 500VT entrance) with Sam from Sam’s Guest Bungalows.
Iritiki Island
This small island in the harbour is connected to the mainland by a free, 24-hour ferry. Beetle across to the great restaurant, or enjoy a beer and take in the terrific view of Vila, especially at sunset.
Emiotungun
Emiotungun has lovely old carvings in the nasara . Polipetagever villagers perform Rom dances (5500VT), magic shows (500VT), sand drawing (500VT) and string band concerts (300VT). Or you can take a historical tour for 1500VT.
Lonnoc Beach
In a beautiful coastal setting just off the East Coast Road, this beach is all white sand and turquoise water, with views of Elephant Island. Drop into Lonnoc Beach Bungalows – day visitors can use the beach for free – and ask about kayak tours.
Waterfront
A pleasant path and grassy area follows the harbour wall behind busy Lini Hwy. No rollerbladers or skateboarders zapping past your ankles. Just a view of harbour activities and moored yachts, a kids playground, seats and the Nambawan Market & Café.
Million Dollar Point
Million Dollar Point, where hundreds of tonnes of US military equipment was dumped, now shows its coral-encrusted machinery to snorkellers and divers. At low tide youll find metal objects littering the beach for a kilometre in either direction. Dont leave your valuables around whil
