This mid-18th-century town hall building is now a museum. It used to have colonnades that spanned Plaza de Mayo, but the building of surrounding avenues unfortunately destroyed them. Inside you'll find a few mementos of the early 19th-century British invasions, some paintings in colonial and early independence-style, and the occasional temporary exhibit. There are good views of Plaza de Mayo from the 2nd-floor balcony.
On Thursday and Friday, a small crafts market sets up in the patio; the cafe here is a great place to relax.
