Set in a grand 19th-century mansion on busy São Clemente, GaleRio is a showcase of cutting-edge urban street art. You’ll find a changing array of paintings, installations, sculptures and repurposed objects (like stop signs turned into panoramic backdrops or payphone booths transformed into furniture).
This is also the home to EixoRio , a city-sponsored institute that aims to create the largest open-air urban art gallery in the world. Some 130 different graffiti artists will create works along 40km of walls that border line 2 of Rio’s metro through the Zona Norte (northern district).
