Of Natal’s city beaches, Praia Ponta Negra (14km south of the center) is urbanized but the nicest. Morro de Careca – a steep, monstrous dune that drops into the sea – towers over its southern end. Bus 56 runs from here along the other city beaches, so just hop off wherever the water looks good.
